Snowy Plover

Snowy Plover are small plovers similar to the Piping Plover. Light above and white below. Distinguish it from the Piping Plover my its all dark and thinner bill, dark legs, and dark ear patch.

In flight it's tail shows a dark center and white sides. It does not have a white rump like the Piping Plover.

The Snowy Plover is a resident of the beachs and sand flats of the UTC. Look for Snowy Plover at Bolivar Flats Bird Sanctuary, Rollover Pass, and Galveston Island State Park
