Fish Crow

Fish Crows are resident in the east part of the UTC (Jefferson County). Very similar to the American Crow it is only safely identified by voice. The voice has been described as "a high nasal cah" (Rappole and Blacklock), "high, nasal, single, or double note cah (National Geographic Society Field Guide), "a short nasal car or ca, sometimes a ca-ha (Peterson). Juvenile American Crow sometimes sound like Fish Crow.
Fish Crow average smaller than American Crow, but sizes overlap.
Fish Crow is a mostly coastal species found in tidewater marshes, in low river valleys, bayous, and flood plain forests.
