Brown-headed Nuthatch

Brown-headed Nuthatch is a permanent resident of the pine forests of the UTC. It travels and feeds in small flocks.

About the size of a Red-breasted Nuthatch with a brown cap and dark eyeline bordering the cap. Gray on the back and buff below. A small white or pale nape spot may be visable at close range.

Good spots to find Brown-headed Nuthatch are Jones State Forest and White Memorial Park.
